Steering Pack Builder
Turn a sanitised delivery update into an evidence-aware, decision-led request you can use with an AI tool approved by your organisation.
It prepares a structured request in your browser. It does not automatically send your information to ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini or any other AI provider.
Quick start
You can create a useful request in four steps.
Choose Guided Build or Quick Draft. Complete the required fields or load an example.
The builder combines your information with evidence, governance and decision-quality safeguards.
Copy or download the request, then paste it into a new chat in an AI tool your organisation permits.
Validate every fact, date, owner, calculation, RAG assessment and decision before formal circulation.
Guided Build
Use Guided Build when you want prompts for the context a steering audience usually needs. It is the best choice for a first pack or an update with important decisions.
Required information
| Field | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Initiative | The programme, project or change initiative name. |
| Reporting period | The period covered by the update. |
| Meeting purpose | Why leaders are meeting and what the session must achieve. |
| Business outcome | The intended outcome or value of the initiative. |
| Current update | Material changes, exceptions, progress and consequences. |
| User-reported RAG | Your current Green, Amber or Red status. |
| Decisions or asks | The decisions, escalations or sponsor actions required. |
Optional fields—such as audience, sponsor, delivery owner, target date, budget, forecast and evidence—make the resulting request stronger. If evidence is missing or contradictory, say so plainly.
Quick Draft
Use Quick Draft when you already have a sanitised written update and want less structure. It asks for the initiative, reporting period, meeting purpose, update, RAG and decisions.
The same privacy, evidence and human-review rules apply. Guided Build is usually safer when the update is incomplete or politically sensitive.
Examples
Select Try an example to explore a realistic finance migration, CRM rollout or operating model scenario. Replace all sample information before using the request for your own work.
If you already entered information, the builder asks you to confirm before replacing it with an example.
Use your AI-ready request
Once all required fields are complete, select Create your AI-ready request. You can then:
- copy the request to your clipboard;
- download it as a text file;
- copy it and open ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini in a new tab; or
- view the full request before using it.
Opening a provider does not submit the request. Paste it into a new chat and press Send yourself.
What the AI is asked to produce
- a readiness assessment and the highest-value missing-information questions;
- an executive steering view;
- a delivery-health table across scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks, benefits and dependencies;
- decision and escalation entries; and
- material risks, issues, dependencies, quality notes and an evidence log.
Privacy and safe data use
Use sanitised content only. Do not enter personal, confidential, security-sensitive or client-identifiable information into the builder or an unapproved AI service.
- Remove names, personal data, client identifiers, credentials and commercially sensitive detail.
- Use role names such as “Programme Sponsor” where a person’s name is not needed.
- Follow your organisation’s AI, information-security and records-management policies.
- Check the chosen AI provider’s data controls before submitting anything.
The current version has no database or persistent application storage. Your browser prepares the request; UserGenix does not automatically pass it to an AI provider.
Limitations
- The builder prepares a request; it does not generate the finished steering pack itself.
- AI output may still contain errors, weak interpretations or unsuitable recommendations.
- The tool cannot verify evidence that you do not supply.
- It does not know your organisation’s decision authority, governance calendar or policies unless you provide them.
- The product may change as UserGenix learns from feedback.
Troubleshooting
The create button is unavailable
Complete every required field shown by the progress indicator. Guided Build requires the business outcome as well as the core update fields.
The request did not copy
Your browser may have blocked clipboard access. Use View full request and copy it manually, or choose Download request.
The AI tool opened without my request
This is expected. For privacy and provider independence, the builder does not submit automatically. Paste the copied request into a new chat and press Send.
The output includes unsupported information
Do not circulate it. Correct the output, mark unsupported items as Unknown, and strengthen the evidence field before trying again.
FAQ
Do I need a UserGenix account?
No. The current product does not require a UserGenix account.
Which AI tool should I use?
Use only a tool approved by your organisation. The builder is provider-independent and offers shortcuts to ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini.
Does the builder decide the RAG status?
No. It preserves your user-reported RAG separately and asks the AI to assess whether the supplied evidence supports it.
Can I use the output in a steering committee?
Only after human review. Confirm the evidence, owners, dates, calculations, status and decision authority before formal use.
