Niranjalee Rajaratne
Co-Founder
Niranjalee works at the intersection of strategy, product and delivery, spanning software engineering, technology transformation and organisational design across nearly two decades of senior leadership. She is one of the clearest thinkers on what it actually takes to make complex organisations execute well: not just plan, not just govern, but ship.
Her career has taken her across financial markets infrastructure, global standards bodies, fast-growth scale-ups and large research institutions, giving her a perspective on delivery that crosses sectors, scales and technology environments. She has led organisations through fundamental shifts in how they build and ship software, designed target operating models and career frameworks for engineering and delivery teams, governed multi-million pound technology portfolios, and partnered with CIOs, CTOs and COOs on investment prioritisation and transformation strategy.
At the Wellcome Sanger Institute, she established the delivery and portfolio governance function from first principles, creating a single real-time view across 30+ concurrent initiatives, chairing the Portfolio Review Panel with delegated executive authority, and leading an enterprise-wide career framework for 150+ staff. At Third Bridge, she built the delivery and quality functions from scratch during a period of rapid international growth, playing a critical role in the organisation’s scaling journey, contributing to an engineering organisation that grew significantly while sustaining customer NPS at 98% and reducing critical production incidents by 95% within a single quarter.
Her conviction, held firmly and tested repeatedly, is that organisations succeed because of their people, not their processes. The best transformation programme in the world fails without the right people, with the right clarity, empowered to act without unnecessary bureaucracy slowing everything down. She builds structures that enable that. Then she gets out of the way.
She is increasingly focused on AI as a strategic imperative for organisations, not just a productivity tool. Most organisations are adopting AI tactically without the strategy, governance or operating model to make it work at scale. She plans to share her thinking on this through UserGenix, drawing on her experience at the intersection of technology leadership and organisational design.
Niranjalee has spoken at software engineering and leadership conferences in the UK and USA, served on the judging panels for the European Software Testing Awards and UK Customer Experience Awards, and published in CIO Applications Europe. She co-founded UserGenix to put the knowledge that usually stays locked inside organisations somewhere anyone can find it.
